When shooting wildlife in nature, you seldom (if ever) have control over the light (let alone the environment like clouds, heat shimmer, rain, flying dust spots). When the weather isn’t cooperating with your subject you can wait it out or distract yourself (not always the best thing, stay focused on your subject) and take advantage of other photo opportunities. Behind us on the river, arctic terns were diving for salmon fry. This gave me an opportunity to capture some arctic terns.
Taken with the Nikon Z 9 and Nikkor Z600mm TC VR S lens.
