I spent a week with great friends at their new ranch in Montana. While considered a party to get together since we haven’t been able to do our regular trips thanks to the virus, we did get in some wildlife photography. We had a variety of birds but the predominate species was the pine siskin in great numbers. These brought in cooper’s hawks that like to pop these pine siskins as M&Ms.
It was fun to have the cooper fly through the tress and have these birds scatter only to come back to the water and feeders a few minutes later. It gave our fingers a break from all of the photo opportunities they presented us. This pine siskin was taken with the awesome Nikon D6 and Nikkor 180-400mm. You can get yours at Bedford Camera.
