I was excited to go back to a great area for birds in Arizona. Southern Arizona is the northern range for many birds in Central America. As soon as we got out of the van, a red shape darted past us in to the near by trees. We followed and found the Vermilion Flycatcher. One of the most colorful flycatchers, it darted from tree to tree until it parked itself right in front of me. Taken with the Nikon D500 with NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR and Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E III handheld. This bird will give you a work out.
