Stalker

On my drive home today, I decided to stop by a new wildlife area to see if there were any interesting birds as the sun went down fast. There wasn’t much but as I walked along, I kept here rustling in the trees behind me and an occasional call. I finally turn around and in the tree staring at me as a loggerhead shrike. He must have been stalking me for a few trees at least.

He bounced around a few branches before he came down enough that he wasn’t backlit by the sky. The sun was going down fast but managed to catch this guy with a pose for a few moments. Taken with the now not-so-new Nikon D6 and Nikkor 800mm at 1600 ISO. I got mine at Bedford Camera.
