I have had on my calendar for a year and as my current job (real job) winds down a trip back to one of the few places I have ever taken a real vacation. And that means no work email, phone calls, employees having heart attacks and have to do the paperwork. This is my second time back to Costa Rica Osa Peninsula and Luna Lodge. It is a 7 hour drive from San Jose or a 1 hour 10 minute chartered flight to Carate. It is relaxing, health food that is good that you ask for seconds, and the most diverse wildlife you will ever see. This time was 6 months after Hurricane Otto bashed CR with 20 days of rain. They have just about gotten things back in order at the lodge but the wildlife is still coming back. The locals were saying that the wildlife devastation is the worst they have ever seen.
The good news is that some of our regulars are still around and my favorite animal was ready for a photograph.
