There are 6 spoonbill species in the world but IMO Florida has the best and most colorful. At the wetlands in South Florida where I do a lot of my photography, the roseate spoonbill is not very common but will make an occasional appearance. Everyone definitely gets excited when they do. In this case, a roseate spoonbill was under a tree in the edge of the light making the water dark. By under exposing, I was able to make his color pop and show off all those shades of pink. He was very cooperative and posed while he preened. Taken with the Nikon D5 and Nikkor 800mm.
