I am spending some time at a friend’s ranch in Montana with some other great friends where we all have a passion for wildlife and bird photography. Our one friend Fausto coined us as bird “freaks.” We haven’t decided how to take that yet. Anyway, our friend at the ranch set up a water feature with some perches near by that have brought in many pine siskins and red-breasted nuthatches. These guys bounce around not spending any time in once place which makes it fun to capture a photo of them. the trick is to be focused on a spot with good light to be ready to take their photo when they stop at that place on the branch. This red-breasted nuthatch was taken with the Nikon D6 and Nikkor 180-400.
