Our first day at Bird rock at Cape St Mary’s Ecological Reserve #capestmarys in Newfoundland Canada. As the light was coming directly over the rock where the birds were nesting, I turned and noticed Northern Gannets catching the wind updrafts, soaring above our heads. At the point at Cape St Mary’s, there is a lighthouse that marks the channel to the St Lawrence Waterway. I thought what better way to capture the moment and this unique location using theNikon D5 with the Nikkor 180-400 f/4 lens.
