Birds in the Mist

The days have started to cool off. While there have not been as many Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese as I am used to seeing, this challenged me to look for new opportunities at Bosque del Apache. With the lack of rain this fall, the ground is especially dry. With the car traffic, there has been a tremendous amount of dust in the air. With the backlit birds at sunset, I set my Nikon D6 and Nikkor 800mm with 1.25TC close to the ground and shot bird silhouettes. The dust gives the impression of morning mist but taken at 4:30 in the afternoon. Pretty cool if I say so.
