Northern Gannet

The Northern Gannet. Taken with the Nikon D5 and Nikon 180-400 f/4. It typically returns to the same nesting ground every year and has a lifelong mate that it doesn’t see again until the next summer. They usually nest in large colonies of tens of thousands, heading out to the ocean every day to bring fish back to its young. I spent the week with some good friends at Cape St Mary’s Ecological Reserve in Newfoundland Canada. The weather was great and the birds plentiful that gave me more photo opportunities than most other famous wildlife locations. I can’t wait to go back.
