A Day at the Track

 

With the ability to travel at the moment being difficult and the oppressive Florid summer heat, I have been going through my files and updating my website. One of my favorite photo subjects in track horses. In South Florida, we have a great horse track that is very busy in the winter. At Gulfstream, There is a great vantage point where I can sit and wait for the next race, usually twice per hour. Photographing horses is similar to birds and cars. You need great panning technique and the ability to hold a long lens. This photo was taken with the Nikon D4 and Nikkor 200-400/f4.
